Smoky Bay to Border Village

We drove, today, from Smoky Bay to Border Village. It was quite a long day with us arriving and setting up camp at about 5:30, just as the sun was setting. We left early enough, 8:30am but we then stopped in Ceduna to stock up on some things from the local supermarket. We then also stopped on the way out of Ceduna to fill up on fuel and to have a cup of coffee. Once all of that was done we headed off.

Today's goal was to see whales at the head of bight. We made this stop at about 1pm, had ourselves some lunch and then proceeded down to the viewing platforms to view any whales that might be passing. One of the caretakers mentioned that at 8:30 that morning he had seen 5 but when we arrived we only managed to see two, a mother and her calf. The kids enjoyed it and we spent quite a bit of time viewing them.

With all that done it was back on the road and off for the Nullabor road house where we found they did not sell LPG. Lucky for the dual fuel as I had a full tank of petrol to take me through to the next stop. Along the way we say many nice roadside stops with great views of the bight, with a couple of campers partaking of a free stay.
We arrived at border village to find that our vegetables for tomorrow's lunch was safe as the quarantine centre is immediately after the nights stop, not before it.
