Easter saw us take our last shakedown trip in the camper. We traveled first to Eden and then on the way home spent one night in the Buchan Caves Reserve.
In Eden we stayed at the Garden of Eden caravan park, which was quite a nice, quite place to camp. We were close to the beach and a boardwalk around a lake. We spent 4 nights here, and although the days were warm, the nights got very cold. Very happy we took a heater.
Besides time on the beach and sightseeing, we spent quite a bit of time on the Eden wharf fishing with the girls. They managed to catch heaps of fish, but no keepers.
After Eden we went to the Buchan Caves, and so as to not have to race home in the car, we booked into the reserve camping grounds for the night. The camp grounds were well kept and tidy with large sites. The evening was cool and rained over night.
The Caves were spectacular, with the tour taking about 45 mins. We went through the Royal Caves which had some fantastic pools of water that were lit from within. We also saw the bone fragments of an extinct Meat eating Kangaroo, which i believe may of been "Propleopus oscillans"
Bianca and Caitlyn spent the afternoon following a kangaroo through the tent sites, and in the evening chased possums past the camper.
We now have some final preparations to make prior to our 6 week trip to Darwin in July.
